The question is answered, right answer was accepted
Hi,
I'm a new joner to Sigfox and played around with moving a Device between Device-Types for testing.
This let to a situation where a token from the contract was removed from that device and the device can't use this token anymore, so ending up being off contract.
Also other devices can't use the token from that contract.
Is there a method to reactive such a prematurely expired token and use it for the rest of the lifecycle?
Thanks for your input

Hi @thomasg,
Transfer between device types doesn't consume tokens if both device types are under the same contract.
Where you transferring a devkit? A devkit comes with free connectivity and its device type is linked to a 1 token contract. Transferring it to another device type, the token will be consumed.
Let me know if it clear things up.
Best,
Aurelien

Thanks for the feedback. I tried the above procedure already but unfortunatly without sucess.
A bit odd that a valid token can't be reanimated. Feels like a poor concept in the BSS/OSS.
Any view from Sigfox on this?

Hi,
what I did was moving devices between dvice-types being part of differrent contracts. One was a dev-kit, this still has a token the other is a standard contract. Thnk the token got lost when I moved the non-dev-kit to the dev-contract and back.
So learnt it the hard way not to do such things. But isn't there any chance to reuse the toke with the same (non-dev)device?

Hi @aureleq,
I'm in a similar case. I've got to devices (dev-kit) each linked to its own device type (and as I have learned the hard way afterwards, each to their own contract) and tried to exchanges device types.
Now both devices are now 'off contract'. I have tried to Restart both "device types", without success:
a. In the first case, the Bulk Operation is "done" but results in error: 1D17F2: The device can't be restarted because there is no token available on the contract
b. In the second case, the Bulk Operation is "done" but it is not marked as "success" nor "error".
In the case of both contracts, the token seems to be there:
Maximum devices: 1
Subscriptions in use: 0
Is there any way out of this situation?
Thanks,
Vicent

Hi Vicent,
Unfortunately once the token has been consumed it cannot be re-used. Send us an email with the 2 IDs and will find another way: devrelations AT sigfox.com
