I recently purchased 2 sigfox devices from cooking hacks for use here in the Netherlands. Registration and set up with an arduino went fine. I can see the data arriving in the backend.sigfox.com interface.
My question is about the relationship of devices, device types, users and groups.
As I am new to sigfox but know LoRaWAN I am assuming that the notion of a Sigfox Device Type equates to a LoRaWAN Applicaiton. I.e. A device would always be bound to a given device type. Is it possible for multiple devices to below to the same device type? If so, my assumption is that their byte payload would be identical.
How about sigfox groups? They seem to include both device types and users.
If the above is true, I would like to consolidate my two devices to a single device type. Is that possible? It is not at all obvious in the backend.sigfox.com menus.
Any pointers or help is appreciated.

In the backend, there are two main management notions:
- Groups is composed of users (with rights that apply on the whole group), device types, devices and possibly contract. In the backend, groups are segregated from each other meaning that if you have rights on a group #1, you can not see what happen in other group #2, except if you also have rights on group #2 or if group #2 is a subgroup of group #1. Group is then a notion to segregate rights and permissions between customers
- Device Type is created in a group. A device type is linked to a unique contract, that is defined at the device type creation. In a device type, it is possible to register as many devices as you want. However, devices need to have the same behaviour as they are linked to the same contract (i.e same subscription level).

For some reason, the two devices that I have are both part of different device types. That was never the intent.
They both send byte data in the same format. I would like to link both of them to a single device type. I have gone through all of the interface options but can not figure out how to do this. Can someone point me to what backend.sigfox.com path I need to take to change the device type of a device?

The devkit activation process is rather specific, and grant you user rights that don't allow you to move devices around.
As there are only 2 devices involved and not a full fleet, I could manually do the move on your behalf.
Could you give me the devices IDs by email ? firstname.lastname@example.org
